IT'S AN EVER-PRESENT REALITY

The responsibility to make proper decisions with respect to the use of physical force and deadly physical force is an ever-present reality. This responsibility is not lessened by the fact that law enforcement and civilians must make these decisions, often under challenging circumstances.
Users of force should know that the decision to use force will be subject to scrutiny both from within and without of their respective agencies and communities. Users of force must be aware of the fact that criminal and civil prosecution may be the result if the user’s actions are deemed inappropriate.
Failure to use force when it is reasonable and necessary may mean injury or death to law enforcement personnel or an innocent civilian. Aside from the potential of being the target of litigation, there are two other reasons a law enforcement officer or civilian's use of force must be proper, and that is; the law demands it and the people, all people, deserve it.
G-Square Publishing is intent on working to reduce, if not eliminate, death and or injury in use of force situation. We expect to release a publication in early 2020 focusing on law enforcement and civilian use of force. We look forward to sharing this publication with our readers.
