“Experience Counts”
The Governor of New York has established the “Experience Counts” Campaign for military veterans. The program's purpose is to help veterans qualify for jobs upon their return to New York.
Under this program, individuals successfully completing certain military firearms training courses approved by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services, will be granted a waiver from possessing a valid NYS security guard, armed security guard or armored car guard registration card for admittance to the 8-Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards.
